Daily Art Challenge
About Today's Art Challenge
One Daily Set of Masterpieces
Every day at midnight UTC, ArtQuiz selects five paintings from a curated library of 700+ masterworks spanning Medieval altarpieces, Renaissance portraits, Baroque drama, Romantic landscapes, Impressionist light studies, and early Modern experimentation. The same five paintings appear for every player on the planet, which is what makes scores meaningful and the leaderboard fair.
How the Quiz Works
You're shown a painting and three possible artists. Pick the one you believe painted it. A wrong answer ends the challenge — so streaks and high scores reward both knowledge and caution. Two one-time helpers are available: remove a wrong answer (eliminates one of the three options) and skip (advances past a question you can't solve). Use them when a painting genuinely stumps you.
Streaks and Scoring
Your score for the day is the number of correct answers (0–5). Playing on consecutive days builds a streak; missing a day resets it. Signed-in players are ranked on the leaderboard by streak length and average score, so consistent moderate play eventually beats single-day perfection. Guests can play the daily challenge freely but won't accumulate a streak.
Learn as You Play
Each correct or incorrect answer reveals the painting's artist, the period it belongs to, and a short description of the work — its subject, where it lives, and what makes it characteristic of its movement. Over weeks of play you'll begin to recognise Caravaggio's dramatic lighting, Vermeer's interior calm, Monet's broken brushwork, or Rembrandt's tenebrist portraits at a glance.
